Case notes by Special Agent Dana Scully

At the behest of Director Skinner, we have been requested to investigate a shadowy underground figure known only as "The Hpossum". Upon Special Agent Mulder's insistence, we contacted the subversive group The Lone Gunmen, known assosciates of Hpossum, but were unable to ascertain the whereabouts of this strange individual.

It is my firm belief, through information we have uncovered during this investigation, that The Hpossum is the mastermind behind attempts to misinform and mislead the general public with his attempts to expose the "truth" behind several strange occurences, laying the blame at the feet of the United States government or one of its agencies. However, Agent Mulder is insistent that The Hpossum is, in fact, the victim of a conspiracy by some secret agency attempting to discredit him or her and thus conceal the truth.

The case remains open at this time, due to the disappearance of Agent Mulder, who was last seen 10 days ago, on July 3rd, after signing off for a blue '96 Ford Taurus from th FBI car pool. It is my belief that he was destined to rendezvous with a contact who could lead him to Hpossum. His whereabouts remain unknown at this time.
